The Commissioner Against Corruption, Ao Ieong Seong, recently led a delegation of the Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) to visit Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai and to meet with the Guangdong Provincial Commission of Supervision as well as the supervisory commissions of the aforesaid three cities, so as to exchange experience on integrity building.

During a meeting with the Director of the Guangdong Provincial Commission of Supervision, Ma Senshu, the Commissioner Ao Ieong Seong introduced the functions of the CCAC and the situation regarding its case investigations. She emphasised that the CCAC has been following the requirements of President Xi Jinping mentioned in his speeches during his visit to Macao last year by contributing to the improvement of the integrity supervision system and the enhancement of governance effectiveness of the SAR Government. Furthermore, the CCAC has been making every effort to achieve the policy vision of the Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai of "upholding the rule of law in Macao" and promoting good governance. Ao Ieong Seong pointed out that in the processes of case investigations, the CCAC not only gathers evidence unrelentingly but also detects shortcomings or loopholes in the respective regimes and renders opinions and suggestions to the government in order to improve the legal regimes. She believed that the cooperation with the Guangdong Provincial Commission of Supervision will be strengthened in the future.

Ma Senshu introduced the enhancement of integrity and conduct of the Party and the anti-corruption actions carried out in Guangdong Province over recent years. He pointed out that the Guangdong Provincial Commission of Supervision is constantly enhancing the transparency of supervisory work, effectively carrying out the task of political supervision and monitoring inactive, inefficient, and irresponsible government officials in order to ensure effective implementation of relevant policies. In addition, he hoped to join hands with the CCAC to effectively develop the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which is a major strategic plan of the country, in order to ensure the long-term prosperity and development of the Greater Bay Area.

The CCAC delegation also met and exchanged with the Director of Guangzhou Municipal Commission of Supervision, Yang Fei, the Director of Shenzhen Municipal Commission of Supervision, Zhao Yong and the Director of Zhuhai Municipal Commission of Supervision, Chen Yufei. The delegation visited multiple red education bases to strengthen patriotic education and learned about the development of the "Project for Thousands of Villages and Towns in Hundreds of Counties" (High-quality Development Project for Thousands of Villages and Towns in Hundreds of Counties). In addition, it also visited technology companies where it learned about how big data and cutting-edge technology applied to anti-corruption work.

Other members in the delegation also included the Chief of the Cabinet of the Commissioner Against Corruption, Chan In Chio, and the Advisor, Seak Loi, among others.
