Strategy for preventing and combatting corruption of the Macao SAR
In addition to working as the ombudsman and carrying out integrity awareness actions, the CCAC adopts a “zero tolerance” attitude in the fight against corruption. It seriously investigates violations and disciplinary infractions, commits itself to the defense of an upright society through the various aspects of its strategy for preventing and combating corruption, with the aim of promoting, together with the various sectors of Macao, the consolidation of values of integrity.
- To consolidate the framework for preventing and combating corruption in order to increase the effectiveness of the respective actions
- To improve the penal sanctionary regime relating to corruption crimes and to optimise the modes of operation and management that are ethical, transparent and in accordance with the law with a view to suppressing corruption at the root
- To reinforce education on honesty for young people so as to instil the principles of integrity in them
- To target both the public and private sectors, as well as professionals from these sectors, in order to broadly raise the awareness of corruption prevention
- To identify existing risks in the key activities for the development of the Macao SAR in order to effectively work on preventing corruption
- To strengthen supervision and control systems in order to ensure rational use of public funds
- To actively mobilise the means of cooperation and coordination in order to contribute to the national effort to combat corruption
- To optimise regional and international cooperation efforts with the aim of aligning with international guidelines in the area of preventing and combating corruption
