Commission Against Corruption, Macao SAR

The new President of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) and Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China, Professor Cao Jianming, and the first President of the IAACA and former Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, Jia Chunwang, visited the CCAC respectively in early November to exchange views on integrity building in China and Macao with the Commissioner, Fong Man Chong.

The Commissioner introduced the CCAC's efforts in corruption fighting, Ombudsman and promotion and education. He pointed out that the since Macao SAR Government was striving to build a clean administration, the works on integrity building have been conducted orderly. The CCAC's focus is to enhance the system building and management modernization of the public administrative departments in order to build a transparent government. The Commissioner thanked the Supreme People's Procuratorate for their full support to the CCAC, especially in the cooperation in case assistance and personnel training.

Prof. Cao agreed on the importance of integrity building to the social development of Macao. He noted that due to continuous social, economic and cultural development of China and Macao, the mutual connection and communication would be increasingly closer. He hoped that the cooperation and communication would be strengthened based on the good partnership in order to enhance integrity building.

Mr. Jia stated that Macao has been experience a rapid social and economic development and the quality of life has been improved under the Chief Executive since its handover to China. Harmony and stable development of the society and the CCAC's works are inseparable. He hoped the Commission would continue to reinforce its performance and maintain its connection and partnership with China for the good of economic development, social harmony and the people's well-being in the two places.
