The Commissioner, Cheong U, met with the President of the Legislative Assembly Election Affairs Management Committee, Mr. Justice Fong Man Chong to exchange opinions about how to ensure the justice and integrity of the Legislative Assembly Election 2009.

In the afternoon of 29^th May 2009, the Commissioner, Cheong U, met the President of the Legislative Assembly Election Affairs Management Committee, Mr. Justice Fong Man Chong at the Headquarters of the CCAC. Both parties agreed that the cooperation and communication between the CCAC and the Legislative Assembly Election Affairs Committee (now named ¡§Legislative Assembly Election Affairs Management Committee¡¨) in the previous two Legislative Assembly Elections was good and that it was the responsibility and wish of every citizen of Macao to guarantee the justice and integrity of the Legislative Assembly Election 2009.

The Commissioner and Mr. Justice Fong Man Chong sufficiently exchanged their opinions about issues such as the problems occurred in the previous two Legislative Assembly Elections, the adjustment of the system of Legislative Assembly Election regarding to those problems and how to ensure the justice and integrity of the Legislative Assembly Election 2009. Both expressed their wish that with the improved system of Legislative Assembly Election, the communication and cooperation between the Commission and the Legislative Assembly Election Affairs Management Committee would be further enhanced, so as to prevent unlawful acts and fraud in the forthcoming election, especially through the issuance of clear guidelines and information to ensure better conditions for fair competition in election.
