The annual Board of Directors' Meeting of the International Ombudsman Institute was held in Sydney, Australia from 6th to 10th November 2007. The Commissioner Against Corruption, Mr. Cheong U attended the meeting as a member of the Board.
Attendants in the meeting had intensive discussions and reached resolutions on a number of issues including the establishment of new IOI head office, the IOI by-laws, membership development and regional research and training projects. Six regional reports (Africa, Asia, Australasia & Pacific, Caribbean & Latin America, Europe and North America) were presented. The President, the Secretary and the Treasurer of the IOI also reported on their respective tasks and responsibilities.
The Board accepted the offer from Hong Kong to host next year¡¦s Board meeting. Members will take the opportunity to visit Macao. The 9th IOI World Conference is scheduled to take place in Stockholm, Sweden in June 2009.
