Organised by the Macao Special Administrative Region Government and supported by the Museum of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Photo Exhibition Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War is taking place at the Complex of Commerce and Trade Co-operation Platform for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. The Commissioner Against Corruption, Ao Ieong Seong, the Deputy Commissioner, Wong Kim Fong, and the Chief of the Cabinet, Chan In Chio, led the advisors, chiefs and personnel of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Ombudsman Bureau and the Cabinet of the Commissioner Against Corruption to visit the exhibition this evening.
Themed “Remembering History, Honouring Martyrs, Cherishing Peace, and Creating a Great Future”, the exhibition consists of two parts with six chapters in total. The rich collection of historical documents and photos fully showcases the history about the devotion of Chinese people to fighting bravely against the enemy and achieving a glorious victory eventually. The first part of the exhibition showcases not only the September 18 Incident in 1931 where sons and daughters of the Chinese nation resisted the enemy with courage but also the prologue to the World Anti-Fascist War. The second part showcases the Marco Polo Bridge Incident of 7th July 1937 where the entire nation of China resisted the enemy, making itself the main eastern battlefield of the World Anti-Fascist War. The pivotal role the Communist Party of China played in the war, as well as the historical facts about how all sectors in Macao and the whole nation tided over difficult times through concerted efforts, is also described in the exhibition.
The CCAC hoped that through the visit the personnel would gain a deeper understanding of the war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the spirit of Chinese people's unity as one and perseverance against the war, so that their awareness of loving the country and loving Macao would be strengthened and they would stand firm at their posts to contribute to the prosperity and stability and durable political stability and peace of the Macao SAR.
The CCAC will arrange another group of personnel to visit the exhibition next week.
