In the evening of last Saturday (11 March), the CCAC received a complaint indicating that a woman surnamed Chan, who was a frequent casino visitor and made her living as a "tips beggar", had allegedly tried to steal chips from gamblers in a casino and attempted to bribe a casino staff to cover up her act after being discovered.

The CCAC launched an investigation upon receiving the complaint. According to the witness and the evidence collected on the spot, the woman surnamed Chan was suspected of having committed the crime of bribery. The case was transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office today (13th March). In accordance with the current law of Macao, anybody trying to bribe casino staff may constitute the crime of bribery.
